Ok, these are the best pictures i could get of the same fist in the top picture. Theyre supposed to be Mpimbwe. I really cant tell the difference between these and the ones who look like Burundi.
Sorry, i know the pictures are brutal, but for some reason my camera doesnt like to focus properly with the smaller guys.

oh well, guess its not gonna happen then. Cant figure out why i cant get the lil guys to come out clear. I took over 50 pictures and these are the best i came up with. Its the same camera used in all the pictures.

some cameras need tons of light to capture a crisp image, but others just have trouble with moving objects. Try following the fish with the camera through the eye piece as you snap your shots. You can also try snapping a pic with the flash when they are sleeping. Sometimes works.

Yeah, ive tried all of that. For some reason it wont focus on the lil guys. If theres a bigger on next to a lil guy... it seems to focus just fine. No biggie, just might have to start looking for a decent camera.

Yea, little guys are hard to get good pics of. Some camera have a manual adjust for focus. My cheap one did, but I lost it. My wife has a fancier camera and it does not have this function, but if you are not 100% familiar with your camera's menu it is worth looking for. Otherwise, try to place some little stones here and there in your tank, if they are scattered around at different focal lengths, you have a better shot of one of the fish hanging around one and getting focus on the rock, and if luck the fish right next to the rock. Not the easiest way to get a good pic, but it may work wonders. Would still love to see what these are

This also can work. If you have already tried all this please excuse me. I really just want to see some more pics!

Hmmm, well for starters I would not breed the one with 7 stripes. Other than the burundi, these are difficult for me personally. They look tanzanian in color, and almost mask. The mask almost has an outline of a zaire though. If I had to guess I would guess tanzanians, but these look like they could be a mix. It may help if you could tell us where you got them.

Got them on aquabid longbefore i started to do any research. They were sold as Mpimbwe, the others i got at a lfs as Burundi, and i like the burundi... the older the lil ones get... the less i like what i see.

Who did you get them from on Aquabid? You can pm me with the answer.
One of your Mpimbwe has the wrong amount of stripes. This happens even in the wild, but it is undesirable in the hobby.

I would also like a PM if you don't mind
Not bad looking fish, but the 7 stripe one is a not desirable as Jim stated. I think as they grow you will get some clearer shots and we can be certain about those masks. If given a choice between Burundi and Tanzanians I would chose Tanzanians, but I am partial
